The Ultimate Fighting Championship kept the momentum rolling from UFC 251 with another Fight Island card on ESPN. UFC on ESPN 13 continued an unusual streak in its main event, while featuring an unusual three “Performance of the Night” bonuses and a few unbeaten fighters all keeping their records intact.

No Rest For The Wicked: Each of the last seven UFC headliners have gone the distance. This long of a stretch has never happened in UFC history, with no more than five consecutive main events ending in the hands of the judges.

And One For Charlie: This event is the second in promotional history to hand out three “Performance of the Night” bonuses to the victors, joining UFC Fight Night 136. This occurred because in the “Fight of the Night” bout between Mounir Lazzez and Abdul Razak Alhassan, Alhassan missed weight and forfeited his claim to bonus money. The promotion doled out $50,000 to three finishers instead.

Goin’ Down Slow: All five fights on the main card went the distance at UFC on ESPN 13. This is the first event where every main card bout reached the judges since UFC 225 in 2018.

Been Doing This Since You Were In Diapers: Calvin Kattar needed five full rounds to beat Dan Ige in the headliner. The last time Kattar reached the championship rounds, Ige was five years from becoming a professional.

Must Have A Lawyer In The Family: Up a weight class, Jimmie Rivera captured a decision over Cody Stamann. Throughout Rivera’s career, 17 of his 23 victories – 74 percent – have come by judges’ verdict.

Astra Traveler: Taila Santos beat Molly McCann by decision to earn her first win inside the Octagon. Each of Santos’ last three fights have gone the distance, accounting for three of her five total bouts that have reached the scorecards. In victory, the Astra Fight Team rep lowered her finish rate to 75 percent.

Like Khabib Jr.: Khamzat Chimaev stayed unbeaten when he throttled John Phillips in the second round. Throughout his pro career that dates back only to May 2018, “Borz” has finished all seven of his opponents within two rounds.

D’Arce Vader: Chimaev hit a brabo choke on Phillips to make his successful Octagon debut. He is the fourth fighter to pull off this type of choke in their first UFC bout, joining Zak Cummings, Tatiana Suarez and Nathaniel Wood.

. A Miraculous Win: Getting Ricardo Ramos out of there in less than a round, Lerone Murphy lifted his undefeated record to 9-0-1 with his victory. With six of nine wins for “The Miracle” by knockout, each of those came in the opening round.

One Round Of Fury: Modestas Bukauskas gained the unusual distinction of finishing a fight at 5:00 of a round, and not due to injury, corner or doctor intervention. Including four instances of retirement, Bukauskas is the sixth fighter to make his opponent unable to continue at exactly the five-minute mark of the opening round.

A Cage Warrior: With a stoppage rate now residing at 91 percent, Bukauskas has ended his opponent before the final bell in each of his last seven victories.

She Wolf On The Hunting: Earning her first win with an armbar in the first round, Liana Jojua advanced her career finish rate to 87 percent by tapping Diana Belbita. Now holding six submission wins on her ledger, five of those have come by armbar.

Bangity Bang: With a rear-naked choke in Round 2, Jack Shore kept his spotless record intact by submitting Aaron Phillips. Shore has beaten his adversary before the final bell in 12 of his 13 triumphs.

Stabbity Stab: Eight of Shore’s 12 finishes throughout his career have come by submission. Seven of eight coming by way of rear-naked choke, the former Cage Warriors Fighting Championship king has tapped his opponent with one in each of his last three bouts.

Tankity Tank: “Tank” closed as an overwhelming favorite of -905 against Phillips, earning the biggest lock victory in the UFC this year. Only one fighter has come in as a greater favorite: Maycee Barber (-1000), and she was defeated by Roxanne Modafferi in an “Upset of the Year” candidate.

Never Say Never Again: Coming into UFC on ESPN 13, Ige had never fought beyond the third round (16 fights), Ryan Benoit had never lost consecutive bouts (16 fights) and Aaron Phillips had never competed outside of the U.S. (15 fights).

Posin’ On Your Dollar: In three of his eight Octagon appearances, Ige has made his walk accompanied by a track from Run the Jewels. Each bout, it has been a different song, with his choice this time “Ju$t” featuring Pharrell Williams and Zack de la Rocha. Ige’s loss is his first when emerging to an RTJ track.

Bah Gawd, That’s Vitor’s Music: A popular walkout track over the years including a staple for former champ Vitor Belfort, Michailidis walked out to “300 Violin Orchestra” by Jorge Quintero. It is the first time a fighter has used this track since Belfort’s final UFC bout in May 2018.
