Sterling enters the cage on an eight-fight winning streak. The 33-year-old Serra-Longo Fight Team mainstay last appeared at UFC 280, where he put away T.J. Dillashaw with punches in the second round of their Oct. 22 encounter. Sterling owns a 14-3 record in the UFC.

Cejudo, 36, steps out of retirement and straight into the spotlight at 135 pounds. The onetime Olympic gold medalist has not fought since he buried Dominick Cruz with a second-round knee strike and follow-up punches at UFC 249 nearly three years ago. Cejudo, who operates out of the Fight Ready camp, has compiled a 10-2 mark inside the Octagon.

UFC 288 “Sterling vs. Cejudo” also features a women’s strawweight tilt pitting Jessica Andrade (-220) against Xiaonan Yan (+175) and a pair of featherweight battles, as Movsar Evloev (N/A) confronts Diego Lopes (N/A) and Charles Jourdain (-180) tackles Kron Gracie (+150).
