The Walkmen: UFC Fight Night ‘Rothwell vs. Dos Santos’

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made its maiden voyage into another European country on Sunday, as UFC Fight Night “Rothwell vs. Dos Santos” brought plenty of heavyweight action, some wicked knockouts and a slick submission to Zagreb Arena in Zagreb, Croatia. The assortment of walkout music used by the fighters was as varied as the combatants themselves.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos strode to the cage to Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now,” the seminal them to the classic “Rocky.” He then proceeded to teach Ben Rothwell a magnificent boxing lesson in their five-round main event, earning 50-45 marks from all three judges. While he came up well short in a lopsided decision loss, Rothwell cast a dark shadow with his entrance. Composed by Wojciech Kilar, the haunting “Vampire Hunters” brought “Big Ben” the cage.
