New England Fights! Adds Brandon Fleming vs. Dez Green to November 17 Card

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Lewiston, Maine (October 26, 2012) –New England
Fights! (NEF) is pleased to announce the addition of a professional
mixed martial arts bout to its card scheduled for November 17,
2012. That bout will feature Dez Green
(5-0) of Team Bombsquad taking on Brandon
Fleming (2-1) of South Shore Sportfighting at a catchweight of
150 pounds. The fight will take place at NEF's Fight Night V event
at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston, Maine.
"Dez Green was initially supposed to meet Jamie Harrison (4-1) on this card to crown the first-ever Maine State Lightweight Champion," stated NEF co-owner and promoter Nick DiSalvo. "Unfortunately, Jamie was injured in training, leaving Dez without an opponent. That's when Brandon Fleming's coach stepped in, requesting the fight with Dez. This is a great fight added to an already-solid fight card."
Fighting out of Ithaca, New York, Green is a protégé of Ryan
Ciotoli, the same coach responsible for the meteoric rise of
current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon "Bones" Jones (17-1).
Similarly, Green has had a lightning-quick start to his fight
career, a career which began just eleven months ago, going 8-0
since that time with three wins as an amateur and five wins as a
professional.
"Dez is probably our most popular non-local fighter," said NEF co-owner and matchmaker Matt Peterson. "He's had two successful performances on NEF cards this year - once as an amateur and once as a pro. The NEF fans have really taken to him. We were so happy that Brandon Fleming stepped in to take this fight on short notice. Brandon is a Bellator veteran. He's coming off a decision loss to Rob Font (4-1), which was considered to be one of the most-heavily contested and exciting bouts this year in the northeast. This fight on November 17 could really steal the show!"
