PFL’s Bruno Henrique Cappelozza Fell in Love with MMA After Watching Pride

If it wasn’t for Pride Fighting Championships, Bruno Henrique Cappelozza might have never taken up mixed martial arts. Cappelozza (15-5, 5-0 PFL) was barely 18 when he saw Wanderlei Silva, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mauricio Rua, Quinton Jackson, and many other legendary fighters putting on epic battles in Japan. That is when he decided that MMA was his life, adopting the four-ounce gloves after a few years in muay Thai. While the Corinthians MMA representative never had the chance to participate in a Pride contest, he achieved his dream of fighting in Japan by locking horns with Jiri Prochazka at Rizin 11. Now, the Brazilian is competing under the Professional Fighters League banner, where he scored five consecutive victories and captured last year’s championship. Cappelozza will return to action as he faces Matheus Scheffel at the upcoming PFL 5 on June 24.
