This Day in MMA History: Nov. 26

On Nov. 26, 2011, Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki was in Lodz, Poland for KSW 17.

In the main event, Mamed Khalidov submitted Jesse Taylor in the first round. Although Taylor suffered the loss, his next fight would be in The Ultimate Fighter house as he was a contestant on -- and future winner of -- TUF 25.

Also on the card, Mariusz Pudzianowski fought James Thompson to a no-contest due to a judging error. Also, Jan Blachowicz became the promotion’s light heavyweight champion as he edged out a decision win over Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou. The Pole would only defend the belt twice before going to the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The card also featured Michal Materia beating Matt Horwich by decision, Artur Sowinski knocking out Maciej Jewtuszko, Antonio Chmielewski decisioning James Zikic and Aslambek Saidov decisioning Rafal Moks.
