Donald Cerrone looks like he’s ready to start another lengthy winning streak.

Showing no ill effects from a disappointing first-round technical knockout loss to Rafael dos Anjos in a lightweight title bid this past December, “Cowboy” made his 170-pound debut a rousing success, submitting short-notice foe Alex Oliveira with a triangle choke 2:33 into the opening stanza of the UFC Fight Night headliner at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Sunday night.

That total also ties Cerrone with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira for fourth-most victories in the combined history of UFC/Strikeforce/Pride/WEC. Only Wanderlei Silva (27), Dan Henderson (24) and Mirk Filipovic (23) have more.

16: Career submission triumphs for Cerrone among 29 professional victories after “Cowboy” tapped Alex Oliveira with a triangle choke in the opening round. It was Cerrone’s first submission in UFC competition since a rear-naked choke tapout of Edson Barboza in April 2014.

14: Significant strikes landed by Oliveira in the abbreviated contest. By comparison, Cerrone landed just four.

21: Significant ground strikes landed, in 42 attempts, for Brunson, who sealed his victory with a persistent barrage of ground-and-pound at the 2:38 mark of round one.

.760: Significant striking accuracy for Dennis Bermudez in his unanimous decision victory over Tatsuya Kawajiri. “The Menace” landed 61 of 80 significant strikes and 120 of 142 total strikes overall. His career significant striking accuracy is 42 percent.

26: Seconds needed by Chris Camozzi to dispatch Joe Riggs in their middleweight scrap. A series of knees brought a halt to the contest, making it the second-fastest finish via knee strikes in UFC history. The fastest occurred when Mark Kerr knocked out Greg Stott with a knee in 17 seconds at UFC 15.

1-3: Record for Riggs since he defeated Mike Bronzoulis to win the only season of Bellator MMA’s “Fight Master” reality series.

2: Takedowns landed, in 14 attempts, by James Krause in his unanimous decision triumph over Shane Campbell. While Krause wasn’t able to consistently get his foe down, he was active on the canvas, nearly submitting his foe in both the first and second round.

35: Significant strikes by which Campbell outlanded Krause, including a 34-to-12 edge in round three.

84: Significant strikes landed by Sean Strickland, the most of his five-bout UFC tenure. Strickland outlanded Alex Garcia by 61 significant strikes en route to a third-round TKO stoppage.

6: First-round KO/TKO wins in six professional triumphs for Oluwale Bamgbose, who earned his first Octagon victory with a 60-second stoppage of Daniel Sarafian on Sunday night.

81: Total strikes by which Augusto Guimaraes outlanded Anthony Smith in the third round of their middleweight encounter. Despite that late surge, Smith held on to win a unanimous decision.

8: Guard passes executed by Nathan Coy in rounds two and three combined against Jonavin Webb in their welterweight tilt. Coy gradually took control over the final 10 minutes, outlanding his foe 55 to 27 in total strikes during that time to win a unanimous verdict.

16: Media scorecards, of the 17 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that scored the 135-pound clash between Ashlee Evans-Smith and Marion Reneau in favor of Reneau. Two of the three cageside judges didn’t see it that way, as Evans-Smith won the bout via split-decision.

4:55: Time of Lauren Murphy’s third-round technical knockout of Kelly Faszholz in their bantamweight bout. That’s tied for the fourth-latest finish ever in a three-round UFC fight.

36: Significant ground strikes landed by Murphy in round three, when she took Faszholz to the canvas and controlled the majority the frame from top position. Murphy landed 38 significant strikes in the round overall, while Faszholz landed just six.

188: Total strikes landed by Murphy. By comparison, Faszholz landed 96.
